We Want to Hear from You!
Thrival Kits was created to support children’s mental health and promote well-being. Our goal at CMHA is to continually advance our programs and this is where we would love to hear from you. We encourage each Thrival Kits facilitator to share an impact story or statement to be featured on the website! We hope that this will inspire each reader and gain new ideas to implementing the program. Please send us your impact story or statement at: info@thrivalkits.ca!
Ordering Thrival Kits Before the End of the School Year
Summer is just around the corner and there are many things to celebrate as the school year comes to an end! We would love to send a huge thank you to all of those who have facilitated Thrival Kits in your classrooms and the positive changes you are making for each student.
Many of you may be planning on implementing Thrival Kits in the near future, and we are still available to take orders for the 2024 year. If schools would like to order Thrival Kits now in preparation for next school year, we suggest storing them aside in a designated corner or perhaps a room or closet! For the Thrival Kits enrolment form, you may click here!
Welcome June, Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) Awareness Month
The month of June is dedicated to Post-traumatic stress disorder
(PTSD) awareness. PTSD can affect everyone, including children, youth, adults and seniors. Statistics Canada states that approximately 8% of
adults in Canada meet the criteria for probable PTSD.
Throughout this month, we aim to raise awareness on PTSD, challenge the negative stigma attached to it and together, share relevant resources.
PTSD is a diagnosable, mental health disorder that may occur after exposure to psychological stressors during a specific, severe, potentially psychologically traumatic event or series of events.
A person who lives with PTSD could experience the event themselves or witness it happening to others.
When an individual is diagnosed with PTSD, loved ones can also experience a lot of challenges and stress. You may feel guilty or angry about the trauma itself, then, on top of those feelings, experience difficulties around PTSD.
